The Hi-Desert Water District has constructed a Wastewater Treatment Facility and wastewater collection system to service the Town of Yucca Valley and portions of the unincorporated area of San Bernardino County. This was necessary as the Regional Water Quality Control Board adopted a resolution (Resolution R7-2011-004) identifying the Town as a top priority for eliminating the use of septic systems. The resolution led to an amendment to the Regional Board's Water Quality Control Plan which was adopted on May 19, 2011 and imposed a three-phased septic tank prohibition on new and existing septic systems within the Town.
