Tony Culver, General Manager

Experienced Leadership at HDWD

Longtime employee Tony Culver was appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as the new General Manager to lead the water district. His role will include leading the very important Phase 2 Sewer Project among other water projects including pipeline replacement, Well 20W Rehabilitation and the Front Western Hills Booster Station rehabilitation.

Tony started with the District in 1999 and has decades of water and construction experience. A long-time local and active community member, Tony is passionate about making sure our water is safe, reliable, and affordable. He has helped the District saved thousands of dollars over the years through in house efforts to complete projects including pipeline replacement, booster pump rehabilitation, the new operations building and many other projects.

The District regularly test and inspects wells. Periodically, maintenance and equipment replacement is required. In this case, the well casing was worn and needed to be replaced.

Well 20W is a major production well that can produce up to about 950 gallons per minute.

A vote of confidence

This year the Board of Directors unanimously voted to have Scot McKone continue as the President of the Board and Sue Tsuda as the Vice President. This will be their second year in these roles. Scot and Sue play an important part in the governance of the water district through the adoption of the annual budgets, policy, rates and other oversight matters. This year marks a major accomplishment through the award of a grant by the State Water Board to help fund the Phase 2 Sewer expansion. While much work remains to be done, both have been at the helm through this notable effort and will continue through the construction of the project in 2025.
